Do I need my own lock?

No — a combination lock is included with your unit. Once you complete checkout online, we'll send you the combination code. No need to purchase or bring a lock.

What are the access hours?

Our Cemetery Road facility has 24-hour access, seven days a week — access your unit whenever it's convenient for you.

What size storage unit do I need?

Here are some ideas of what fits in our units:

  • 5 x 10 — Contents of one room: a mattress set, dresser, small appliances, and several boxes. Great for UWRF students or anyone needing a little extra space.
  • 10 x 10 — Entire family room (sofa, coffee table, chairs, bookshelves, etc.) and two full bedrooms (mattress sets, nightstands, dressers, etc.)
  • 10 x 20 — Entire 2–3 bedroom home, including large furniture (sofas, chairs, tables, appliances, etc.) and several boxes
  • 10 x 30 — Entire 3–5 bedroom home, including large furniture, basement, and garage items
  • 20 x 20 — Contents of a 4+ bedroom home including basement, garage, and garden shed items. This unit has access to power.

Do you offer outdoor or vehicle storage?

For outdoor parking — including boats, RVs, trailers, and cars — check out our sister facility Pine Tree Storage, just a few blocks away on 945th Street. Pine Tree offers paved, fenced, and gated outdoor spaces in a range of sizes.

How do I cancel my lease?

All units require written notice via email no less than 14 days before your move-out date to cancel your lease. Include your unit number, name, and move-out date. Rent will not be refunded or prorated if you move out before the last day of the month. See Wisconsin State Statute 704.19(3) for more details.

Do I have to rent a unit for a fixed amount of time?

Our leases are month to month. When you first sign the lease, you will pay a prorated amount for the current month and the full amount for the next month. After that, your monthly rent is due on the 1st of every month.

Do you require a security deposit or have any fees?

We do not require a security deposit. There is a $25 administration fee charged at the time of your new rental. No other fees apply.

When is my rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of the month. If enrolled in auto-pay, it will be withdrawn on the 1st. There is a grace period of 5 days.

How do I keep my items dry and mold/mildew free?

In warm, humid months, moisture in the air can condensate on the cold concrete floor. If you have items on the floor that can absorb water (cardboard boxes, furniture, etc.), mold and mildew may grow. To prevent this, store items that shouldn't get wet on pallets or wood strips, place items in plastic containers, or wrap them in airtight plastic. Also, avoid moving in during rain, as items can pick up moisture before being placed in the unit.

I'm having trouble with the combination lock on my unit — what should I do?

First, make sure you're using the code that was sent to you after checkout. If you're having trouble getting the door to close and latch, try lifting the door slightly or pushing it down by stepping on the handle below the latch to compress the door seal — it may take a bit more force than expected.
